Our mission is to provide Humboldt County with access to information, education, and resources to create a more inclusive and supportive community.
Through our alliance with local individuals, agencies, and organizations we can empower youth and adults on the autism spectrum to reach their highest potential.
About Us
Humboldt Autism Alliance was founded in 2009 under the name, Families Advocating Autism Now (FAAN) by seven mothers of children diagnosed with autism. In 2019, the Board of Directors voted to change the name to better connect with our community and reflect our organization’s mission.
Over the years, our Board of Directors has worked to create opportunities for individuals with autism and their families by providing access to activities and therapies that might otherwise be financially or socially inaccessible. We are continually working to create and expand programs and host events to support awareness and acceptance and to bring families and the community together. Our all-volunteer Board of Directors is currently served by six local parents wishing to make a difference in their community.
